Kids on the Slope: Episode 11

A coming of age anime that doesn’t involve giant robots or space chicks? It almost sounds impossible, but this latest episode of Kids on the Slope proves that Shinchiro Watanabe’s emphasis on well-written human drama can supplant genre expectations. All it takes to show budding maturity are characters that truly care for each other, displaying on-screen jubilee and despair tangible enough to evoke emotional responses from the audience.

Set of glasses as an accessory

It has been announced by noitaminA, an apparel label that deals with anime, that it’s newest feature will be Kids on the Slope by Shinichirō Watanabe and Yoko Kanno.

The first accessory in the new series in the set of glasses that are based on the brainy Kaoru Nishimi, who is also a pianist. The glasses are 140mm; 35mm, vertical 54mm, and the lends width is 140mm in measurement and will be made out of butyrate.

The glasses are up for preorder now and will be actually available sometime in June with the price set at 5,200 yen, or $64.
