Big news from Japan: Chiho Saito, the creator of Revolutionary Girl Utena, will be launching a new series in the next issue of Shogakukan’s Monthly Flowers magazine. The manga, called Torikae Baya, is set in the Heian Period and is about a “masculine princess” and a “feminine young prince” switching places. It seems that the manga might be a new take on the Heian-era tale Torikaebaya Monogatari.
Both on its own merits and because it’s being done by Saito, this new manga series seems like one to make note of.
