Evening AMV: “Mahou Shoujo Requiem”
Warning, there will be spoilers in the AMV!
Welcome to Evening AMV! The news on Saturday is always so sparse that it’s easy to feel deathly bored about the lack of shiny anime updates, so I figured that I would share what I always do to inject more anime into my life: watch AMVs. Thus, a new feature is born!
Anyway, we’re starting out with an AMV you may or may not be familiar with and is easy to love: Shin’s “Mahou Shoujo Requiem.” This AMV made the rounds at quite a few conventions last year and did very well, so you may have had the opportunity to see it on the big screen.
This AMV’s greatest asset is its thoughtful choice of song. Its sound perfectly suits the visual style and atmosphere of Madoka. That alone wouldn’t be enough, but thankfully the editing follows through on capturing musical sync throughout the video.
