Mt. Fuji Gets Cute Mascot!

The town of Fujiyoshida, which sits at the base of Mt. Fuji, is having it’s tourism service unleash a moe mascot character to help boost tourism with the newer generations.
The character’s design which is inspired by the mountain has a white peak on her hair and images of Mt. Fuji on her kimono. Her accessories , the Fujizakura flowers in her hair (also known as Fuji Cherry Blossoms) and a great spotted woodpecker, are also represented of the nature around the base of the mountain. Her name is yet to be decided and the tourism service is allowing submissions to decide her nickname. Her birthday will be on February 23rd, same as Mr. Fuji Day.
The mascot will be seen on gift shops around the base of the mountain and the tourism service’s blog. What do you think? Isn’t she cute! :D
