New Comic Series Based on Bishoujo-Style Figurines

DC has just launched an online comic series with heavy influences from manga, and will even have a bishoujo Wonder Woman. The comic is called Ame-Comi and will feature a variety of superheroines, and originated from the well selling bishoujo figurines. In fact, it’s their best-selling product line from DC Collectibles.
Created by Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray, the focus will be on female superheroes, which will start off with Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Duela Dent, Power Girl and Supergirl. All of them will be fighting a female Braniac and they will each have their individual arcs before uniting.
While it does show signs of Japanese influences, don’t be surprised that it doesn’t look a lot like manga or anime. Each issue can be bought on DC’s app and ComiXology for 99 cents so it’s a pretty solid deal if you’re interested.
