The new anime season is rapidly approaching! Summer anime promos here for your previewing pleasure!

This video is the today released promo for the slice-of-life high school comedy Kokoro Connect. It’s on the receiving end of skepticism because it looks an awful lot like K-On! but that could turn out to be either good or bad depending on your view. Luckily, we have this preview so you can decide for yourself!

Plenty of other summer 2012 anime promos have also been released, check some of them out at the youtube links below:

If you have no idea where to even start with these, animucharts has released its final version visual guide for the season (preview below). Clicky for large size!

Space Battleship Yamato 2199 Gets Remake!

To get fans hyped up for Space Battleship Yamato 2199’s upcoming remake, the Japanese branch of the online retailer Amazon began running a 225-second promo video earlier today. Yutaka Izubuchi (R! ahXephon), the 53-year-old designer who made the original mechanics and robotics of the Yamato franchise, will be the chief director of the show for the first season. The anime studios XEBEC and AIC are producing the anime, while Nobuteru Yuki and Makoto Kobayashi will be designing the characters and mechanics respectively. Judging on the quality of the video, I’d say the remake is worth checking out! It’s scheduled to go out on sale after it’s theatrical debut on April 7th, so don’t miss it!

The latest sneak peek at the new season of Avatar: The Legend of Korra has been released and it’s showcasing more of the show’s amazing action! Nickelodeon announced over their twitter earlier this month that the show will be airing some time this year but would give no set date stating the official date hasn’t been announced yet, all I can say is 2012 :X ” and “You’re pretty persistent. It’s on schedule to start airing this year. No set date yet :)” Ah so much anticipation!

Visual Novel meets Xbox 360 as Phantom Breaker prepares to debut in America in late 2012. Phantom Breaker is a 2D arcade fighting game developed by visual novel developer, 5pb and currently being published in America by 7Sixty. The game’s setting takes place in Japan as a mysterious organization led by Phantom, organizes a fighting tournament in Tokyo. Winner of the tournament will have their wish granted. Sounds a lot like the Fate/ Series in my opinion. But hey…we can’t all be as original as dragonball Z. Lol. Just kidding…. ♥

Hanasaku Iroha Announces Second Season!

Hanasaku Iroha one of this year’s most well received anime and one of my personal favorites has just got a greelight for a second season! On the very first volume of the Hanasaku Iroha Green Girls Graffiti manga, the cover sprung up on us the announcement that a new animated season has been approved and will be aired sometime in 2012.

My excitement for this is perhaps dimished by the fact that we’ll have to wait for some unforseen day next year for it to air, but nonetheless it’s awesome news! :D
