4Kids assets have been sold to Konami and Kidsco

Nooooo, grandpaaaaa! Ahem.
We’ve been expecting this for a while, but it’s finally happened: 4Kids has sold its rights to popular anime franchises. A joint bid of $15 million by Konami and Kidsco (which is part of Saban) bought them the rights. Konami will receive the rights to the Yu-Gi-Oh anime franchise, and Kidsco will receive some rights for Dragon Ball Z and Sonic X.
With all the hatred that 4Kids has engendered over the years, I expect that at least someone will be celebrating this. Anyway, it is certainly good that the rights are being sold and not just going down the tubes.
