Kentaro Katayama’s light novel series “Kurenai” anime was licensed on Thursday by Sentai Filmworks to be distributed digitally and later in the year subtitled and released on DVD. The original series aired back in 2007 and was recently adapted into a OVA in 2010. The story follows the wild adventures of a 16 year old boy named Kurenai Shinkurou whom settles altercations between people and often finds his life in mayhem and disarray. One day, Kurenai is assigned as a bodyguard for the daughter of a powerful plutocratic family. The story focuses on the relationships and struggles of the aristocrat girl, Kuhouin Murasaki, and her bodyguard, Kurenai.
